Scholarship Application
Members of Rio Grande FCU attending or planning to attend an accredited college or vocational trade institute in the State of Colorado can apply for the scholarship. Rio Grande FCU will provide one Academic Year Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.
Application Criteria
APPLICANTS:
Must be a valid member of Rio Grande FCU. (Applicants need to be members at the time of application)
Must demonstrate need for financial assistance in furthering his/her education. Criteria will include Student Income, Family Contribution, other Scholarship and/or Grants.
Must demonstrate through Academic Records the capability and desire for advanced education. The criteria for evaluation will be High School or College Transcripts, including Grade Point Average and Class Ranking. Applicants must have maintained a Grade Point Average of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Need not be in the current graduating class of high school seniors, but must have been accepted as a student at an eligible college in a Degree Granting Program.
Must enroll for and complete a minimum of 9 credit hours each semester.
APPLICATIONS:
Applications must be received no later than April 12th.
Selection of the recipient will be made on April 17th.
INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
The decision of the Selection Committee shall be final.
DISBURSEMENTS:
All scholarship funds shall be paid to the eligible school upon receipt of a billing in favor of the scholarship.
The funds shall be equally divided between Fall and Spring Semesters in order to be of assistance throughout the entire year.
No funds shall be disbursed directly to the recipient.
Funds not used by a recipient during the award year at their college will be forfeited and revert to Rio Grande FCU.
